Instead, we insist on going our own way \u2014 regardless of the consequences. I often think of the people of Jeremiah\u2019s day, who stubbornly refused to listen to his warnings and told him, \u201cIt\u2019s no use. We will continue with our own plans; each of us will follow the stubbornness of his evil heart\u201d (Jeremiah 18:12).<\/h3>\n<div id=\"zone-el-101\" class=\"zone zone-el\">\n<div id=\"ConnatixVideoAd\">\n<h3 class=\"connatix\">Stubbornness has its roots in pride \u2014 and because of this, it\u2019s ultimately a spiritual problem.<\/h3>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<h3>But gossiping is also wrong because of the motive behind it. When we gossip, we aren\u2019t trying to help anyone \u2014 far from it. Instead, we\u2019re usually trying to call attention to ourselves \u2014 showing others that we\u2019re \u201cin the know\u201d and important. But this is wrong \u2014 both in God\u2019s eyes and in the eyes of others.<\/h3>\n<h3>Ask Christ to forgive you \u2014 and most of all, ask Him to rule your life, including your tongue.
